SHOWER MOMENTS!
The Best Ideas & Inspiration Come When I’m in the shower!
Have you ever wondered where that bolt of inspiration comes from when you’re in the shower? Why, during that exact process, does that mind receive clarity or vision on things seemingly in our blind spots any other time?? And this phenomenon is one that so many of us, if not all of us at some stage, experience.
Here an inspired woodland shower sketch my phone turned into inllustrations:
The experience of these divine-like inspiration filled moments, is not reserved just for the shower. We can experience the same kind of profound clarity from other water exposure like wild-river or lake swimming, or simply a taking a stunning view. A lot of it is to do with the vagus nerve and our mindstate.
The secret here is that you can actually create these states of inspiration. There is a causality to them that we can all reverse-engineer. Similarly to getting into states of ‘flow’, we can actually use method and process to activate our creative core.
By turning on and tuning in the nervous system into, what the Chinese and Qi Gong systems call, the Subtle Body, we can awaken sleeping parts of our neurology. By working with the posterior chain of muscles and inner energetic systems, we can forge new neural connections and unlock previous inactive parts of our conscious and subconscious mind. This is in the understanding that the conscious mind becomes unaware gradually of aspects, stigmas and talents we do not use, and be reawakening the connected areas of the body and mind we increase our perceptive and broaden our lens of experience.
Enter; the art of generating pure inspiration.
Like with any technique there is a lot of learning and practice involved. We each have our own unique formula that can create a cascade of inspiration thoughts and emotions, so discovering the art of pure inspiration, on demand, any time, is first a journey of discovery and exploration within.
Through combined practices in breath-work, fascia manoeuvres, visualisations, energy movement and intent, we can completely change the chemistry of our personhood. We can change how we feel about anything and anyone. Therefore we become able to achieve any task that is possible and available to us.

The question of discipline and consistency is a big one. Without tackling these two demons head on, we cannot build new narratives or experiences. When procrastination takes over we lose all the hard work. We need to continue to commit to the practices until things shift in an obvious way. Results speak for themselves.
If we are looking to make changes in our life and fill our days with feelings of inspiration, creativity and abundance, the best place to start is to cultivate those sensations within. Bring the feeling of aspiration into a feeling of affirmation. Embodiment is the route to creating an abundant flow of inspiration that can carry you into the unknown and beyond, and in reality cannot match something that is not vibrational match for it.
A few tips coming up to completely alter our states of consciousness quickly and easily… Namely to do with things that we know are good for us but avoid, or we are completely addicted to, keep up in a state of fight/flight and unable to see the bigger picture:
One - Phone. leave your phone off or at home for a day (or a week, if a day is easy for you).
Two - Sugar. Drop it completely. It’s the source of most cravings!
Three - Breath - usual breath is 2-3 seconds. bring it to 4-5 seconds nasal breath and change your days!
Event simpler than above, just notice that when tend to look downwards or tilt our heads down, when we are tired, frustrated, angry, sad, confused and many other states. There is evidence that looking UP, into the sky if possible, gives us a hit of dopamine and brings a sense of hopefulness.

So next time we are looking for that shower moment, and we don’t have a shower to hand, make sure you leave you phone at home, look up, leave the sugar out of your coffee and breathe slow. You might find yourself in a hallelujah moment in no time!
